      Who we share information with?

      Integration of social plugins

Our website uses social plug-ins ("plug-ins") from various social networks such as Facebook.com, Twitter.com, Tiktok.com, Snapchat and Pinterest. The purpose of these plug-ins is to provide you with an opportunity to interact with your contacts and to easily disseminate interesting information. These plug-ins can be recognized by the respective logo in the network. We use a 2-click solution so that no data transfer takes place during a mere visit to the website.

Only when you click on such a plug-in, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective network. The content of the plug-in is transmitted directly to your browser via the network and integrated into the website. If these networks are based outside the EU or the EEA, we cannot therefore exclude the possibility that your data may be transferred to a server outside the EU/EEA and processed there. We have no influence on the extent and the period of use of the data that the respective network collects with the help of this plug-in and therefore inform you according to our level of knowledge:

By integrating the plug-in, the respective network receives the information that you have called up the corresponding page of our Internet presence. If you are logged in to one of the networks, this network can assign this information to your profile. If you do not want the network to collect information about your visit to our website, you must log out first. In principle, however, it is possible that the network may obtain and store your IP address even though you have not registered there or are not logged in. We also have no information on the deletion of the data collected by the plug-in provider.

The plug-in provider stores the data collected about you as user profiles and uses these for the purposes of advertising, market research and/or demand-oriented design of its website. Such an evaluation takes place (also for not logged in users) for the representation of demand-fair advertisement and in order to inform other users of the social network about your activities on our website. They have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles at the service providers.

The legal basis for the use of the plug-ins is Article 6 paragraph 1 GDPR. The purpose, duration and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of your data as well as your relevant rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy can be found in the data protection information of the respective social networks:

      Use of Hotjar

This website uses the web analysis service Hotjar. The program enables an analysis of user behaviour based on user segmentation. By evaluating the logfile data, we can determine how the individual user segments of the website are visited, which landing pages are visited and how an increase in click rates can be achieved.

Cookies are used for the analyses, as described above, which are linked to a pseudonymised ID. From your IP address, the last three digits in other States Parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area will be reduced. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to an Hotjar server in Ireland and stored there. The IP address transmitted by your browser within Hotjar will not be merged with other Hotjar data.

The use of Hotjar serves to evaluate your use of the website and to compile reports on the website activities so that we can regularly improve our offer. Hotjar has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield. The legal basis for storing the cookie is the consent given (Article 6 Paragraph 1 GDPR). The further evaluation of the data collected is carried out over a period of two years based on Article 6 Paragraph 1 GDPR.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also deactivate Hotjar tracking at any time (and thus prevent Hotjar from collecting data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website - including your IP address - and processing of this data by Hotjar) by following the instructions at https://www.hotjar.com/privacy/do-not-track/.

      Experience rating-reminder by HotJar

After completing your order, we provide you the opportunity to provide some feedback about your experience. This information is provided through HotJar, whose privacy information can be accessed here: https://www.hotjar.com/legal/policies/privacy/ The feedback form is not mandatory and does not need to be completed once an order has been placed.

How long do we keep your personal data?

Our general approach is to retain your personal information only for as long as it is needed.

      1. When you have a Northskull profile, a potential customer profile or subscribe to our newsletters, we generally retain your personal information for 5 years from the last interaction you initiated with us.
      2. When you interact with our customer services, we generally retain personal information you have shared with us (including personal information shared by mail, chat, or text message or when our interaction is transcribed) for 5 years from the last interaction you initiated with us.
      3. When we use cookies or other online advertising technologies, your consent shall only be valid for a maximum period of 12 months.

We may retain personal information for a shorter or longer time, for instance, where we are obliged to do so in accordance with relevant legal, tax and accounting requirements.

Last interaction shall be defined as the last contact you initiated which is traceable. Last contact could be the last time a call, sales email, or meeting was proposed to you and to which you responded favourably. For instance, clicking on a link included in an email (except for a link to unsubscribe from receiving marketing content), having a chat on our website is also considered a last contact. Conversely, opening an email or visiting our website without logging in would not qualify as last contact.

We will destroy your personal information without delay once it is no longer necessary (e.g., if the purposes of collection/use of the personal information have been accomplished, if the statutory retention period expires) in a way that prevents such personal information from being restored or recovered. If printed on paper, the personal information will be destroyed by shredding, incinerating, or some other similar method and, if saved in electronic form, the personal information will be destroyed by technical methods which ensure that the personal information cannot be restored or recovered thereafter.

In specific circumstances we may also retain your personal information for longer according to the applicable statute of limitations so that we have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenges.

Do we sell your personal information?

We do not sell your personal information. We may allow selected third parties (such as approved advertising partners) to collect your personal information via automated technologies on our websites (see our “Cookies Policy“) to provide you with content and advertisements that may be of interest to you and on the legal bases set out in this privacy policy.

      Cookies Policy

Our website uses so-called cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device and saved by your browser. They serve to make our offers more user-friendly, effective, and secure. We use both temporary cookies, which are automatically deleted when you close your browser ("session cookies"), and persistent (permanent) cookies.

You have the choice whether you want to allow the setting of cookies. You can make changes in your browser settings. You basically have the choice of accepting all cookies, being informed when cookies are set or rejecting all cookies. If you choose the latter option, it is possible that you may not be able to make full use of our website.

When cookies are used, a distinction must be made between the necessary cookies and those for other purposes (measurement of access numbers, advertising purposes).

We use session cookies on our websites which are necessary for the use of our websites. This includes cookies that enable us to recognize you when you visit the site in a single session. These session cookies contribute to the secure use of our offer by enabling the secure processing of the shopping basket function and the payment process.

Use of cookies with your consent

Below you will find an overview of the cookies that we use with your consent at the beginning of your use of the website. You will also find an opt-out option for each presentation of the insert. These are cookies for recording the usage behaviour of our website as well as cookies that are used for advertising purposes.

      • Use of cookies to record usage behaviour (tracking)

The use of tracking cookies enables us to recognize users when they access our website again and to assign usage processes to an internally assigned code number (pseudonym). This enables us to record and analyse repeated visits to our website.

Specifically, the following tracking cookies are used:

      Tracking by Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. "("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies", which are text files placed on your computer, to help the website analyse how users use the site. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. However, due to the activation of IP anonymization on this website, your IP address will previously be reduced by Google within member states of the European Union or in other signatory states to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide us with other services relating to website and Internet use. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the context of Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent Google from collecting the data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and from processing this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en

We use Google Analytics to analyse and regularly improve the use of our website. We can improve our offer and make it more interesting for you as a user. For the exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework. The legal basis for storing the cookie is the consent given (Art. 6 Par. 1 S. 1 lit. a GDPR). The further evaluation of the collected data by means of Google Analytics takes place over a period of two years based on Art. 6 Par. 1 S. 1 lit. f) GDPR.

For more information, please visit https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en (general information about Google Analytics and data protection).

      Google AdWords Tracking

We use the offer of Google AdWords to draw attention to our attractive offers with the help of advertising materials (so-called Google AdWords) on external websites. These advertising media are delivered by Google via so-called "Ad Servers". Ad server cookies are used here, which enable the evaluation of performance parameters such as ad impressions, clicks and conversions. In this way, we can determine how successful the individual advertising measures are in relation to the data of the advertising campaigns. If you access our website via a Google ad, Google AdWords stores a cookie on your PC. These cookies usually expire after 30 days and are not intended to identify you personally.

The following analysis values are usually stored for this cookie:

      • Unique Cookie ID
      • Number of ad impressions per placement (frequency)
      • Last Impression (Relevant for Post-View Conversions)
      • Opt-out information (mark that the user no longer wishes to be addressed)

These cookies enable Google to recognize your Internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of an AdWords customer's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user has clicked on the ad and has been redirected to this page. Each AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be traced via the websites of AdWords customers. We do not collect and process any personal data in the aforementioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Based on these evaluations, we can recognize which of the used advertising measures are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data from the use of advertising material; in particular, we cannot identify users based on this information. The legal basis for the storage of cookies by Google is the consent given ((Article 6 Paragraph 1 GDPR).

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. Please note that data processing by Google may take place outside the European Union. Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-USFramework. Furthermore, we have no influence on the extent and further use of the data that is collected using this tool by Google and therefore inform you according to our level of knowledge:

By integrating "tracking tools", Google receives information that you have called up the corresponding website of our website, or that you have clicked on an advertisement from us. If you are registered with a Google service, Google may associate your visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or have not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address. Further information on data protection at Google can be found here: http://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/ and https://services.google.com/sitestats/de.html

You can refuse to set a cookie. This can be done via browser settings, for example, which generally deactivate the automatic setting of cookies. Alternatively, you can deactivate cookies for conversion tracking by setting your browser to block cookies from the "www.googleadservices.com" domain. In addition, by installing a browser plug-in, you can prevent Google from collecting data generated by the cookie and relating to your use of the website: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en If you do not wish to receive interest-based advertising, you can disable Google's use of cookies for these purposes by visiting the https://www.google.de/settings/ads/ page. For more information about Google's privacy practices, please visit https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/. Alternatively, you can visit the website of the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI): http://www.networkadvertising.org/

Use of cookies for advertising purposes

We use cookies for marketing purposes, for example to tailor advertising to the interests of a website visitor. They are also used to limit the frequency of display and to measure the effectiveness of a display. This records which web pages and which articles were clicked on. This enables us to collect information about usage habits to control interest-oriented advertising. This information is shared with third parties. In these cases, the cookies are regularly set directly by the advertising partner.

Specifically, the following cookies are set:

Use of Adroll / Nextroll  Remarketing

In addition to AdWords tracking, we also use Adroll / Nextroll Remarketing. This is retargeting, i.e., the delivery of interest-based advertising on other advertising spaces outside our offer. Using DoubleClick by Google

This website uses the online marketing tool DoubleClick by Google, another service of Google. DoubleClick uses cookies to serve ads relevant to users, improve campaign performance reports, or to prevent a user from seeing the same ads more than once. Google uses a cookie ID to track which ads are displayed in which browser and to prevent them from being displayed more than once. In addition, DoubleClick may use cookie IDs to collect conversions related to ad requests. This is the case, for example, when a user sees a DoubleClick ad and later visits the advertiser's website with the same browser and buys something there. According to Google, DoubleClick cookies do not contain any personal information.

By implementing these tools, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. Please note that this may involve data processing outside the European Union or the European Economic Area. Google has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield, https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework . Furthermore, we have no influence on the handling and further use of the data by Google. The legal basis for the processing of your data over a period of up to two years is Article 6 Paragraph 1 GDPR.

If you do not wish to receive interest-based advertising, you can disable Google's use of cookies for these purposes by visiting https://www.google.de/settings/ads/ For more information about DoubleClick by Google, please visit: https://www.google.de/doubleclick/
